Venture Lab is proud to recognize entrepreneurial achievement in China and worldwide with the Penn Wharton China Entrepreneur Award. Our 2024 honoree is Feng Deng, WG'05, Founder & Managing Partner, Northern Light Venture Capital.

Feng Deng co-founded NLVC in 2005 with Managing Director Jeffrey D. Lee, and he currently serves as Managing Partner for the organization. He has more than 15 years of technical and managerial experience spanning the computing, communication, and data networking industries, in addition to his nearly two decades of investment leadership. Feng oversees upwards of $4.5 billion across 6 USD funds and 4 RMB funds.

Northern Light Venture Capital raises nearly $450 mln for fifth fund

Northern Light Venture Capital, a China-focused firm targeting early-stage companies, raised almost $450 million towards its fifth venture fund from 23 LPs, according to a regulatory filing. Additionally, the firm is raising about $35 million towards a fifth strategic fund, according to a separate filing with the SEC.

Northern Light’s Jeffrey Lee seeks $200m for new Korean venture fund

Beijing-based NLVC is in the process of raising $375 million for its sixth US Dollar fund, its filing with the US SEC last December showed. The firm is an investor in companies like Chinese food delivery giant Meituan and genomics giant BGI.
