Climate Change and the Future of Food: Social Entrepreneurship Design Thinking Workshop

September 19, 2023 at 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Tangen Hall
Students joined Venture Lab on Tuesday, September 19th at 4pm in Tangen Hall Room 706 for the first workshop in the Climate Change & the Future of Food Salon Sprint week. The Design Thinking Workshop encouraged students to begin thinking about business solutions to the intersections of climate change and food utilizing the framework of design thinking. The phases of design thinking (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) are crucial to ensure a potential business solution is as impactful as possible given the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change.

Design Thinking was the first workshop in the week-long Climate Change and the Future of Food Salon Sprint. During this Salon Sprint, students will be encouraged to identify impactful business solutions to the challenges facing the food system, and through these workshops (Design Thinking, Theory of Change, and Social Entrepreneurship Business Models), students will iterate their ideas and prepare to pitch their solution on Friday, September 22nd for a chance at $500.
