Our 2025 Honoree
Tory Burch, C'88, is an American fashion designer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist known for building one of the most iconic global lifestyle brands of the 21st century. Raised in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, she earned a degree in art history from the University of Pennsylvania before beginning her career at top fashion and media houses including Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, and Harper’s Bazaar. In 2004, she launched her namesake brand with a boutique in New York City, offering accessible luxury through versatile, timeless designs. Her brand has since expanded into a global empire with hundreds of stores worldwide and diverse product lines including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, and athletic wear.
Beyond fashion, Burch is a prominent advocate for women’s economic empowerment. In 2009, she founded the Tory Burch Foundation to provide women entrepreneurs with access to capital, education, and mentorship. The foundation has awarded millions in loans and grants and continues to be a driving force in supporting women-led businesses. Celebrated for her leadership, Burch has received numerous accolades and remains a powerful voice at the intersection of design, business, and social impact.
