Climate Change and the Future of Food: Social Entrepreneurship Virtual Salon

September 18, 2023 at 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Online via Zoom
The future of food is at a crossroads, with climate change, food production, supply chain disruptions, workforce challenges, and global food security issues converging to create complex problems. The statistics reveal the scale and urgency of these challenges. Given the significant impact of food systems on the global economy, environment, and workforce, it's imperative that we design solutions to tackle the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change.

Students joined Venture Lab for a virtual interdisciplinary panel discussion via Zoom on September 18th from 5pm - 6:30pm to explore the intersection of climate change and the food system.

This Salon was the first event in the week-long Climate Change and the Future of Food Salon Sprint. During this Salon Sprint, students were encouraged to identify impactful business solutions to the challenges facing the food system, and through a series of workshops mid-week, iterate their ideas and prepare to pitch their solution on Friday, September 22nd for a chance at $500.
